In partnership with DCASE, The Uncanny and The Other was presented as a part of the Chicago Cultural Center’s ‘In The Works’ series. Conceived and directed by Sam Deutsch, The Uncanny and The Other was an exploration of the relationship between performers and audience, the body and the double, and the unheimlich. The audience was ushered through the space in a promenade style performance that utilized viewpoints, mask and object manipulation, and lighting design. The Uncanny and The Other was created in collaboration with Brandon Moorhead, Ryan Bourque, Missi Davis, and Nic Jones.
